Anthropology of Art provides students with a unique confrontation with the different aesthetics of foreign cultures and thus offers an expanded perspective on the category of art as such. In this one-year course, students will explore the fundamentals of theoretical anthropology in order to better understand and approach art objects that represent their traditional communities. The aim of these courses is to teach students to approach exotic visual realities in a non-judgmental but highly sensitive way and, consequently, the phenomenon of difference itself. Interdisciplinary thinking is fostered through complex themes, which students practice using the rich visual and video material that supplements the lectures.
